Look! Pictures!

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

I added a new page to the Web site. Now all of the pictures that Nicole uses in her blogs can be found on our Gallery page! It’s all possible thanks to a pretty awesome WordPress plug-in called Media Library Gallery. Nicole had asked me to figure out a way to do this awhile back, and I have finally figured out how to make it possible for her.

Hope everyone enjoys it!

Ode to marriage

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

I know I promised honesty, and I will. But right now, I must focus on the good in life.

Anyone who tells you that living together is like being married is full of crap, in my humble opinion. There’s a sense of being married yes; you have joint bills, animals, responsibilities blah blah blah. But once you cross that threshold into being legally bounded (bonded?!) together, there is something more.

Right now, my husband and I are experiencing that something more. We’re invested in each other, and that means that is he is going through a rough spot, then I need to be there for him. That means my other stuff (blogging, commenting, reading, writing, what have you) goes on the back burner.

So, that’s where I am. I’m going to be doing recaps (with honesty) but the other stuff I had planned is just going to have to wait.

New-ness

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

You’ll notice that there is a whole new blog design, which is thanks to my great husband. It’s inspired by a post I did on my other blog about Becoming the Gassetts.

He redone it so this website looks more blog like rather than a website, since you no longer needed all that wedding info. :)

Just thought I’d update you.

Winter Cometh

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Nicole and I are both native Texans. If you’re unaware of Texas’ climate then here’s the crash course; Summer = HOT! Winter = Cold-ish. You see we both thought at one time that we knew what cold weather was. We knew that when the thermometer hit 32 it was time to bundle up and get prepared for a freeze. That was us last year, back when we thought snow was this mystery substance that occasionally made our clothes moist. However with our adventure into the White North we’ve learned that after a few days of single digit temperatures, a blistering 32 degrees is a godsend. I believe that Nicole is still in love with the glistening beauty of the snow, but frankly I’m tired of looking at it.

About a foot of snow on the ground.

About a foot of snow on the ground.

Furthermore, Nicole has finished her first semester as a Counseling Psychology Ph.D. candidate at UNL. She’s extremely excited, though a bit dazed by how fast the semester flew by, about turning in her final paper today. Everyone wish her well, we are going to celebrate this accomplishment later this week.

Nicole’s Dress is Gone.
The postal service lost it.
Still Can’t See New One.
